How To Frolic: A Guide For Beginners

We've emerged, blinking into the springtime sunlight, after the longest winter we've ever experienced. I feel like I've had to re-teach myself how to deal with sunlight and warmth! There have been far too many times when I've gone to work in a coat and regretted it on the way home. However, I'm still pretty suspicious of the weather and I feel like if I start going without a coat, I'll be caught in a torrential downpour. Because that's how these things work.
My favourite part of the week is watching all the commuters and city workers letting their hair down on a Friday afternoon. There's such a feeling of weekend camaraderie, and everyone seems to be filled with contentment. Businessmen loosen their ties and cool beers are consumed on the way home from work. You just don't get that in the winter.

There's still a load of scaffolding up on the back of our house, but nobody seems to be working on it anymore... Very bizarre. But on the plus side, it makes for some excellent frolicking! Here I am, failing to do a pull-up. I don't have the grip strength! Still, it's fun to swing around like a child. Observe my ridiculous backwards elbow...

In other news, my hair is getting super long. I'm doing that thing wot people do, and growing it for the wedding. I thought that having long hair would mean I wore it in different styles every day, but I am too lazy. I think I'll have to make an effort to make the most of my long hair, and try out some new styles. Any suggestions? I'm pretty lost when it comes to long hair!

I'd like to make it known that I did NOT break that bench! It was already broken when we moved into this flat! We're looking for a new place to move into, which is pretty stressful. It's also less than two months until the wedding, and there's still so much preparation to do! I can't wait to share some of the details! I'm in the process of collecting old family photos to include in a big collaged display. It's going to be propa nostalgic like. Also, stay tuned for a round-up of my favourite necklaces (basically my necklace wishlist, let's not lie!).

Peter Pan Collars FOREVER!

Maybe there will come a time when I am "too old" for the Peter Pan Collar. Maybe that time has already come. I don't know. What I do know is that if something has a Peter Pan Collar then I am approximately one million point five times more likely to (want to) buy it. That, my friends, is maths.

Alack, my luscious mane is obscuring the wonderment of the Peter Pan Collar in this photo. But behold my slightly-condescending-visage. It looks like I am judging you. Perhaps I am. Perhaps, I was judging Dan as he tried valiantly to take photos of me! Will we ever know? Stay tuned to find out.

This green dress is one of maybe five go-to dresses that I own. Most of them weren't expensive, but they almost all have adorable collars. I like to wear this dress with white tights and patent black brogues. White tights are something of a new discovery for me, and I love patent shoes because they remind me of being a child, and also the scene in Twin Peaks where Nadine is worried that boys will be able to see up her skirt in the reflection in her shoes.
This blog post will be short and sweet, whilst I line up some more exciting things for you to look at. I've devised what is quite possibly the perfect autumn/winter cookie, and I have to show you the recipe, even though it is what I'd call a "cheat's recipe". My fortnight has been filled with looking after an ill Hemingway, attending pre-interview tests for a library job, attending appointments as well as celebrating our four-year anniversary, hallowe'en, and our friend's birthday. It's been busy, and there are some exciting things in store for the future!
If you don't believe me about my OBSESSION with the Peter Pan Collar, why not find out how wrong you are by looking here, or here or even here.
